Have Yourself a Digi-Holiday and end the Computer Science Education Week with us!
METC is proud to Connect Innovative Learners like you! This free METC Networking Night will be after the #DigCitDay on Friday, December 9 at EducationPlus, from 3-6 p.m. Come as you are, after work or school, to enjoy a late afternoon snack and explore some digital tools.
We will have some Bee-Bots and Ozobots, Spheros and LEGOs, as well as some other hands-on things to explore while you meet people and learn. Spend your #HourofCode with us! This FREE event will be in an Open House format so you can come and go, or stay as long as you like.
It’s our way of saying THANK YOU and Happy Holidays.
Please RSVP so we can prepare accordingly.

We have several edtech offerings this summer, but for one week in July, it’s going to get a bit STEAMy, with design thinking, coding and project based learning scheduled! Registration is still open, so you can sign up today!
July 13-14: STEAM-ing It Up: Design Thinking in the Classroom; learn from Debbie Fucoloro and Christine Ruder. Beginning with essential questions, they will explore many strategies and practices available to maker educators– makerspace and PBL processes that include: LEGOs, littleBits, squishy electronics, Sphero, wearable computing, Arduino, recycling and robotics, coding and more… all of which allow educators and students to share, engage, explore and collaborate on their learning journey together.
July 15: Adventures in STEM: Learn to Code; Debbie Fucoloro continues to share her best practices in drag and drop programming in a hands-on, game-like constructivist atmosphere.
July 16: Project Based Learning & 21st Century Skills in the Elementary Classroom with LEGO Education; join Steffanie Forbes and Laura Jackson has they guide you through hands-on activities that cover modeling in science, math, engineering, language arts, reading, social studies and literacy– using LEGOs.
July 17: Project Based Learning & 21st Century Skills with LEGO Education; Steffanie Forbes and Laura Jackson focus on the secondary classroom in their second day at EdPlus. Explore real world math, science, renewable energy and engineering, plus simple & motorized mechanisms and physics, again, in hands-on activities.
Join us in a series of fun and engaging workshops where educators will have the opportunity to work with LEGO Education kits and technology to bring Common Core and NGS to life! Participants will work through hands-on activities that cover modeling in science, math, engineering, language arts, reading, social studies and literacy that will provide opportunities for students to demonstrate and build their 21st century skills. Bring engaging and motivating programs into your classroom! Topics will vary by session (review descriptions when you register for your event). LEGO Education manipulatives available include:
• WeDo Robotics: STEAM
• StoryStarter: ELA, Reading, Social Studies, Science
• MoreToMath Primary Math
• MINDSTORMS Robotics EV3: Explore real world Math, Science, Renewable Energy and Engineering.
• Simple & Motorized Mechanisms: Physical Science, Physics, Renewable Energy, and Engineering.
Project Based Learning & 21st Century Skills with LEGO Education has open registration dates of May 6, July 17 and October 23.
