Accepting METC 2015 Proposals Through Start of School Year

metc presenterInterested in presenting at the 32nd annual Midwest Education Technology Community Conference? METC 2015 is February 9-11. The conferences continues to grow in size- onsite attendance in St. Louis, Missouri, was over 2,000 last year and online attendance via Twitter reached several hundred thousand educators!

Make note of these 2014 dates & start planning!

• Preconference Workshop Proposal Deadline: August 23
• General Session Proposal Deadline: September 13
• Proposal Review Period: September-October
• Acceptance Notification: October

Seeking Precons and Breakouts:
• Preconference Workshop (3 hour or 6 hour)
• General Session (50 minutes or 1 hour & 50 minutes)

Nine strands:

You will learn how to access templates for design and productivity. Whether you have wanted to learn how to create portfolios, webpages, and brochures or create path animation, this workshop is for you. Learn about K12Share ~ Tech4Learning’s safe, online service for publishing student work created in Share.


Pixie 3 Makes its Debut @ CSD – “Share” the Excitement

Two NEW! tele Tech4Learning classes have been scheduled for June 13 at Cooperating School Districts!

In the morning, learn how to work with student to create cross curricular projects in both print and digital formats and collaborate with their peers using Pixie 3! There is a new look and feel to Pixie3. So bring your questions, projects  and lesson plans and get ready to address: State Standards, 21st Century Skills, Differentiated Instruction, RTI and much more! You’ll learn how  easily you can convert your existing Pixie projects to Pixie 3, and learn how to use all of Pixie 3’s new features – including multi-page projects and real time collaboration, new tools and functionality.

During the afternoon, learn how Share is an amazing 21st Century Authoring tool. Share makes it easy to create interactive presentations, PDF and FlashR files, and web sites. You will learn how to access templates for design and productivity. Integrating  technology into your curriculum will be engaging and fun. Join us to brainstorm and collaborate to address Curricular Objectives and then, put the technology to work for you. Whether you have wanted to learn how to create portfolios, webpages, brochures or create path animation, this workshop is for you. Engage, Create and Share.

Differentiating Instruction with Discovery Streaming   
Discovery Streaming (formerly unitedstreaming) is not just videos. St. Louis area teachers, come to CSD’s tele to find out how to use this awesome resource more effectively in your teaching! Dynamic instructor Cindy Lane will help you discover ways to develop curriculum based Writing Prompts, Quizzes and Assignments through the use of the Teacher Center.  

In this one day workshop, Cindy will show you ways to save time & make your teaching easier by creating common assessments and sharing them with your school and district through the use of My Content.  Bring a lesson idea, its objectives or GLE’s, and be ready to develop easy to use resources for more differentiated instruction.  You’ll meet other St. Louis area teachers utilizing Discovery Streaming, too.
