Developing & Facilitating Collaborative Groups with Adaptive Schools

Adaptive SchoolsComing this fall to EducationPlus is Adaptive Schools: Developing & Facilitating Collaborative Groups.

This is a four-day workshop- participants must attend all the sessions- and is two days in September and two days in October:

Day 1: Wednesday, 9/24; Day 2: Thursday, 9/25;
Day 3: Wednesday, 10/22; Day 4: Thursday, 10/23.

Adaptive Schools is about facilitating groups, and helping to develop those groups with which you work to their highest capacity. Join other educators as we learn:

• two different ways of talking on groups
• why we need to be “adaptive”
• meeting norms that work
• how to deal with conflict in a community
• the skills of an excellent facilitator
• how to be a presenter that is credible
• the tools of an engaged and valuable group member

Session leader Toni Prickett is the owner and founder of Region Insights, an educational entity whose primary focus is helping educators build internal capacity. She facilitates individuals and groups who desire a deeper understanding of constructivist learning, group development, group facilitation and coaching. As a National Training Associate for the Center for Cognitive Coaching and the Center for Adaptive Schools, she has worked with state departments of education, superintendents, principals, staff developers, instructional coaches and teachers to enhance their own capacity to be self-reflective and self-governing.
