Discovery’s Geocaching Day

Geocaching-Day-logo.jpg-255x300Are you interested in going on a hi-tech treasure hunt? Consider participating in Discovery Educator Network (DEN) Geocaching Day taking place Saturday, May 17. Geocaching is a free, real-world outdoor treasure hunt. Geocaching is when you try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using a smartphone or GPS. When you find one, you can then share your experience with others.

Discovery Education is encouraging every DEN member to get out and have some fun on May 17. You could go out on your own to find caches in your area, but a better option would be to host your own geocaching event. The DEN will support your event by sending you an official 2014 DEN Geocaching coin to plant and even send you a some goodies to give to those joining you. You can find resources to help you learn more about geocaching online.

If you’re ready to organize and host an event for DEN Geocaching Day, fill out this form.  Contact Discovery’s Chad Lehman if you have questions.
