Tinkering, Observing, and Connecting: STEM Education & You

METC Conference Featured Speaker Kyle Schutt has worked since 2010 with educators to help them better understand how technology and digital media can be used to support instruction, motivate students, and increase passion for learning. He has fostered relationships and community-building by hosting in-person and virtual events for the Discovery Educator Network (DEN), most recently enjoying brainstorming, creating, producing and moderating Discovery Education’s virtual field trips and student focused events. Kyle (@ktschutt on Twitter) will be presenting a Preconference Workshop on February 10:

When it comes to STEM education, the whole is by far greater than the sum of its parts. During this session, we will build a common understanding of STEM and why it is such an important edutopic. You will tinker, innovate, ask questions, make observations and create connections to technology-rich examples that you can bring back to your classroom. And of course we’ll also expose you to a wealth of resources from Discovery Education to share with your colleagues and support your STEM community. Those that do not already have a DE account through their district will receive a free 30 day trial. Bring your own laptop with browser and wifi capability.
