Midwest Spotlight Educator: Kelly Gilchrist

Kelly GilchristNational Board Certified Teacher Kelly Gilchrist is in her fourteenth year of teaching full time in the Hazelwood School District. She has taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade and she was the McCurdy Elementary School’s Teacher of the Year in 2008. Kelly received her BS in Elementary Education from Missouri Baptist University and her MA in Educational Leadership and Administration from Arkansas State University.

In 2013, Kelly was selected as a Midwest Spotlight Educator for 2014 for the METC Conference. This recognition honor leaders from the region in education technology, whose practices are making a difference for students as well as teachers. If you are attending the conference and your district uses Promethean products, her sessions are musts!

Kelly is a certified Promethean Trainer and currently serves as a trainer in her district. She has presented at many local conferences and presented at her first ISTE conference in San Diego. She was chosen as a Featured Teacher for the Promethean Planet website, as well as having won an Activboard 500 for having the most downloaded lesson on Planet. In addition, Kelly also won a set of ActivExpressions for her contributions on Promethean Planet’s teacher forums. Kelly is recognized world-wide for her flipchart lessons. She loves helping other educators create eye-catching, interactive, engaging, and fun Activinspire flipchart lessons. Kelly is the co-creator of the website AmazingClassroom.com and blogs about her journey through education with technology on her blog.
