Join us during Media Literacy Week for this teacher free workshop featuring Cable in the Classroom’s, Frank Gallagher, who will discuss the Partnership for 21st Century Skills (P21) and its Framework for 21st Century Learning. The Framework presents a holistic view of 21st century teaching and learning that combines a discrete focus on 21st century student outcomes (a blending of specific skills, content knowledge, expertise and literacies) with innovative support systems to help students master the multi-dimensional abilities required of them in the 21st century. His topics will include:
- What is P21?
- What is Cable in the Classroom?
- Who are the P21 member companies and the leadership states?
- The P21 framework and the 4 Cs.
- The role of media literacy within the P21 framework, in college and career readiness, as a necessary condition for full participation in civic, social, and economic life in the 21st Century
Frank will show examples of schools implementing the P21 framework and teaching media literacy, and he will show how to access examples of P21 documents, like the subject area maps, which are the result of hundreds of hours of research, development and feedback from educators and business leaders across the nation. You won’t want to miss this fascinating evening!
