Registration is open for all educators (superintendents, assistant superintendents, principals, assistant principals, librarians, media specialists, tech coordinators, and teachers) to attend the 2011-2012 TLA. This Academy will assist educators in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to use technology as a tool for more effective and efficient leadership in their schools.
The Technology Leadership Academy will help you:
- Focus on leadership skills in technology
- Improve classroom use of technology
- Develop a vision of how to use technology to improve student performance
- Assess strengths and needs of your staff/students in technology
- Develop a practical and useful technology plan
- Expand your network of colleagues
As a part of the academy, participants will receive the following:
- an 8GB iPodtouch OR a 16GB iPad2 +3G
- Web Literacy for Educators by Alan November
- 42 hours of professional development training
- attendance at one day of the Midwest Education Technology Conference
- breakfast each day (lunch on your own)
Dates for the 2011-2012 school year are as follows,
(8:30 am to 3:30 pm each day):
• October 5, November 9, December 14
• January 11, February 14 (METC, March 7
Cost: $1200 per person for iPod Touch; $1600 for iPad2
All training sessions will take place at CSD on 1460 Craig Rd. except for the Feb. 14th session, which will be at the St. Charles Convention Center.

Participants are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to bring their own laptops to the sessions. If you don’t have a laptop, don’t worry. We have some available to loan you. Also, there might be some confusion about the iPad with 3G. This means that the iPad has the CAPABILITY of connecting over 3G, but you will have to purchase the plan from either Verizon or AT&T yourself. This plan can go month-to-month. You don’t have to purchase a 2 year contract. We are looking forward to seeing you at the TLA!
