ISTE Honors

As an ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) Affiliate, Cooperating School Districts can submit the nomination for two 2011 ISTE Awards: Outstanding Teacher and/or an Outstanding Leader. The ISTE awards program recognizes the best of the best in ed tech each year. ISTE honors exceptional educators who advance the field, demonstrate vision and innovation, and unlock student potential.

CSD ISTE Affiliate is able to submit the nomination for these 2011 ISTE Awards. Nominations for the Outstanding Teacher and the Outstanding Leader in Missouri must be submitted to Cooperating School Districts NO LATER than noon, Monday, February 28th.

These awards recognize and honor one leader and one teacher who have demonstrated outstanding achievement and leadership in implementing technology to improve education. ISTE offers its Affiliate members an opportunity to nominate one individual for each award annually. Candidates for the awards are nominated by ISTE Affiliates, a network of more than 80 professional associations representing more than 100,000 educators worldwide. Nominations are reviewed by an eight-person team of education and technology professionals from around the world.

Award recipients are selected from a pool of nominations submitted by ISTE Affiliates from around the world.  The educators selected to receive these awards receive:

•   Recognition at ISTE’s annual conference and exposition.
•   $1,000 travel stipend to attend ISTE 2011 and a plaque recognizing the recipient’s outstanding achievement.
•   Issued a one year ISTE membership.
•   Featured in ISTE publications and in press releases provided to local media and on the website.
